13 November – Have you ever seen the rain? (Site 30)

We’ve woken to rain and high winds today. Forecast is for clearing conditions later in the day and the wind is predicted to drop. Let’s hope so.

Looking ominous

Friday seems to be departure day for many here at Scotts Head. This morning’s amusement has been listening to people trying to hitch their caravans to their cars/trucks.

mate, back a bit. Stop. Left hand down, oh shit I mean right hand down, back an inch, too much. Forward, stop. Back a bit…

Lots of fun for the whole family

The rain cleared in the early afternoon, affording a long walk along Forster Beach. The beach runs from Scotts Head up to Nambucca. Looks like a good 10km of pristine beach. There are plenty of interesting things to see on a walk like this.

Lots of these Bluebottles washed ashore due to the 2 days of 40kph winds
Unusual sand formations
4WDriving on the beach is allowed with a permit
Nothing left to do but sit back and enjoy a refreshing beer.
Oh, and a Martini of course

Just to top off the there was an amazing storm out to sea.
